Therapy is solely about the client that is seeking it, Person Centred quite literally means that you, the client, are at centre of any therapeutic work that is put in place by me, your counsellor. You take the lead, bringing whatever it may be that you present with into session & I work to support you, I may make suggestions or offer knowledge along the way that you may find helpful but ultimately because your therapy is for you, it is for you to choose from what is offered what you would like to do moving forward.
Therapy that combines different tools & approaches throughout your therapy is referred to as integrative. There are many different & wonderful therapeutic approaches Analytical Therapy & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy may be familiar terms. Different approaches are beneficial in their own ways & may be helpful to apply in parts during your therapy.
For example, approaches I may integrate but am not limited to within my own approach are;
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
Behavioural Therapy
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
Mindfulness Therapy
Solution Focussed Brief Therapy
